Two New April Sours: Dill Pickle Gose and Blood Orange & Lemon Thyme Sour
It's April, and you know what that means: the new sours are here! We've been busy in the brewery this spring, and we're excited to finally share what we've been working on. Meet our two newest limited-edition releases: a Dill Pickle Gose and a Blood Orange & Lemon Thyme Sour, both available from 1st April 2026 as part of the White Label Series range. Both are 4.4% ABV, available in bottles on the webshop, and on tap at the taproom in Walworth.
What Are the New Orbit Beers April Sours?
Both beers share the same carefully crafted base of wheat malt, lager malt, Pilgrim hops, and Lallemand WildBrew Helveticus, before heading in two very different directions. For the Dill Pickle Gose, we lacto-fermented cucumbers in-house with a combination of pickling salt, Nico Lager, coriander seeds, fresh dill, black pepper, long pepper and vine leaves. This pickling process took about 6 weeks. We then juiced the pickled cucumbers and added this to the base beer alongside more salt and fresh dill.
With the Blood Orange Sour, we zested and juiced the fruit adding both to the beer and followed this with fresh lemon thyme for a clean, fresh and delicately flavoured sour.
Dill Pickle Gose 4.4% — What Does It Taste Like?
The Dill Pickle Gose is a bright, refreshing take on a traditional German-style Gose sour beer. It's brewed with salt, fresh dill, and cucumbers lacto-fermented in-house with vine leaves, black pepper, coriander seeds, and dill. On the nose, expect gentle chardonnay-like aromas with fresh dill. On the palate, it's rich, crisp, and tart with a lightly brined, artisanal pickle-like character, a moreish salinity, and a lingering savoury finish. An unusual style, but definitely one for the pickle fanatics, and it goes brilliantly with Dragon Flame BBQ’s signature burger at the taproom.
Blood Orange & Lemon Thyme Sour 4.4% — What Does It Taste Like?
The Blood Orange & Lemon Thyme Sour pours soft and hazy with a blush of orange. Aromas of gentle citrus peel and fresh lemon thyme lead into a delicate taste of juicy blood orange with hints of cranberry, and a dry, almost floral finish from the lemon thyme. Light-bodied, complex, and highly approachable.
