Cask E.S.B Launch
On Wednesday 23rd September, we're launching our new Extra Special Bitter at the taproom for Cask Ale Week.
We've teamed up with roasted malt specialists French & Jupps to produce a classic E.S.B at 4.8%. Dating back to 1810, French & Jupps are Britain’s oldest maltings, renowned for their handcrafted specialty malts, and provided us with Caramel Malt and Chocolate Malt for this recipe. We were also joined by Shirker's Rest, The Green Goddess, and The Rusty Bucket to brew this beer: three great South London pubs that champion independent beer and serve impeccable cask.
Rich amber-copper in colour, this beer showcases layers of traditional crystal malt character, with aromas of digestive biscuits, toffee, and light caramel balanced by a touch of chocolate malt for a gentle roasted complexity and depth.
Traditional British hops shine throughout. Brambling Cross brings hedgerow fruit aromas and subtle blackberry notes, East Kent Goldings offers a delicate earthy spice, and First Gold adds a hint of marmalade to follow.
We'll have a beer quiz starting at 6.30pm on Wednesday 23rd, with beer prizes to be won!
And, if you have one of our locals cards you'll get a pint of the new beer to try on the house that evening.
