Orbit Beers is proud to announce the release of our new Vienna Lager collaboration with legendary British independent record label 4AD.
Created to celebrate 4AD’s April Brixton pop-up store Enclosed in Amber, as well as live performances from Dry Cleaning and Big Thief at London’s Brixton Academy, this limited-edition beer brings together two long-standing passions: great beer and great music.
Orbit Beers and 4AD: A Longstanding Connection
Orbit Beers have been fans of 4AD for many years. Our much-loved Pale Ale IVO is named after 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell, whose influence helped shape one of the most important independent labels in British music history, with acts ranging from Pixies and Cocteau Twins, to more recently, Dry Cleaning, Aldous Harding, Andrian Lenker, and Big Thief.
This new collaboration continues that connection with a beer inspired by creativity, independence and a willingness to reinterpret tradition.
What Is a Vienna Lager?
A Vienna Lager is a classic amber lager style known for its balance, noticeable malt character, and clean finish. Traditionally brewed with Vienna malt, the style often offers notes of toasted bread, biscuit, and a touch of caramel.
For this release, we’ve taken that classic foundation and given it a contemporary change up with a new and innovative strain of yeast.
Tasting Notes: Orbit x 4AD Vienna Lager
Our new Vienna Lager starts with a base of Vienna malt, delivering flavours of:
Toasted malt
Biscuit
Light caramel sweetness
We then fermented the beer with the new SH-45 lager yeast, chosen to enhance and esterify the fruitier side of the hop profile.
Cascade and Hallertau Blanc hops bring lifted aromas of:
Citrus zest
White grape
Vinous character
The finish is clean, crisp and pleasantly bitter, making this an incredibly drinkable lager with added aromatic depth.
A Modern Take on Vienna Lager
This beer drinks with the lightness and refreshment of a classic lager, while offering the expressive aromas and complexities you might associate with an amber ale.

The Orbit Beers x 4AD Vienna Lager is available for a limited time during the Enclosed in Amber pop-up at Brixton Village from 22nd–26th April, and through Orbit Beers webshop and selected stockists while stocks last.
