What's on in October

Whether you're popping into the taproom or out and about around London, here is an update on what we've got going on in October.

Sunday 1st - Cue Point Roasts Return

Orbit Beers Taproom

As autumn approaches, award-winning British/Afghan Smokehouse Kitchen Cue Point LDN are launching their Sunday Roast dinner menu from October 1st. With a new weekday winter menu to follow in mid-October.

The roast menu features the grilled pumpkin steak, recommended by Jay Rayner in the Cue Point Guardian review, as well as the brisket mantu dumplings as featured on Saturday Kitchen.

As an inclusive company, they've attempted to meet multiple dietary requirements. As such, they serve halal, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options and are happy to customise further for more specific allergen requests.

Saturday 21st - Red Ale Launch and Cue Point's New Winter Menu

Orbit Beers Taproom

It's that time of year again! We're launching the Autumn Red Ale that we brew for Hakata Ramen in Bermondsey to pair with their new winter menu.

We'll be launching the beer in the taproom on Saturday 21st October with food pairings from Cue Points' new winter menu!

The Red Ale was brewed to pair perfectly with Japanese cuisine, in particular, Ramen dishes!

Deep red in colour, this hoppy ale has a malty, caramel base with an abundance of hop character. Sorachi Ace hops provide hints of coconut, lemon, dill, coriander, and a touch of oak with the Citra hops delivering a hit of grapefruit citrus.

Using speciality grain, we adjusted the water profile to produce a brewing liquor high in carbonate and phosphoric acid, with a slight alkaline edge to complement wheat-based ramen noodles. The beer has a distinctive, unique characteristic from Sorachi Ace, a hop variety developed in Japan in the 1970s.

PYJÆN reach inside the deep, multidimensional well of what is broadly called
Jazz and bring together all its diverse components in a singular, emotional sound.

In 2021 they released their second full album, ‘Feast’, their most daring release
yet, with thirteen tracks and five features ranging from singer Renato Paris on
‘By Your Side’, to Glasgow Jazz legend Corto. Alto on ‘Stay Home’. Feast was
recorded over five days at Peter Gabriel’s legendary studio ‘Real World Studios’.

The band is now in the process of releasing their third EP ‘Sunset Milk Tea’. This
collection of tunes were recorded during the ‘Feast’ recording sessions at Real
World Studios, but were not released until now. The band will be releasing a
single every month, starting with Halloween special ‘Spook’ on the 28th October,
and finishing with the release of the EP on 24th March 2023.

Adventurous songwriting, meticulous timing, incredibly tight horn arrangements
and an obvious joy to play together are PYJÆN's hallmarks.
