Kveik Pale Ale Launch

We'll be launching our latest White Label Series beer the Kveik Pale Ale this weekend. This is our lead brewer Greg’s signature beer, who joined us from Five Points in September 2020. It’s a hazy, citrusy, pale ale - rich in texture, aroma, and unusual brewing heritage!

'Kveik’ yeast is commonly used in Norwegian Farmhouse Ales and creates a hazy appearance and orange peel aromas that pair perfectly with fruity hops.

The gooseberry flavours and herbal characteristics from Nelson Sauvin and Hallertau Blanc complement the ripe orange pith notes and hints of grapefruit from the addition of Citra and Amarillo. Expect a soft, pillowy mouthfeel from the oats and wheat and a balanced, refreshing finish.

Saturday 22nd October - Four Thieves:

Who doesn't love a Tzatziki Sour with their fry-up? They'll also be featuring some specially crafted Orbit cocktails and slushies too. Choose from one of their classic brunch dishes such as smashed avocado on toast, full English, or eggs royale. Entertainment is provided by the wonderful Boogaloo Stu, with party games, creative challenges, and Orbit merch and themed prizes.

Friday 21st October - Orbit Taproom:

Nico Night - A Cologne Experience in London

 Nico in a stange

Following on from the roaring success of our first Nico Night in October 2021, we're doing it all again on Friday 21st October 2022. Round up your mates, book a table, and join us for a night of Nico Kölsch stanges, German food snacks, and Nico from the wood for a proper Cologne-inspired night out.

If you've ever been to Cologne, you'll have noticed that their drinking culture is wildly different to ours, instead of going up to the bar to order, the waiters (called Köbes) will bring over trays laden with tall thin glasses (called stanges), containing 200ml of freshly poured Kölsch.

When the beers have been served, the Köbe will mark your beer mat (pictured below) to keep track of how many you've had. When your beer is nearly empty the köbe will bring another stange, and another, until you place a beer mat on top of your glass, signalling you've had your fill.

We're going to replicate the Cologne/Kölsch experience at Orbit Beers Taproom, pouring our freshest batch of Nico on the night. At around 7pm we'll also be tapping a special batch of Nico, which we'll dispense straight from a barrel on the bar. So, get a bunch of friends together and come on down to our taproom for something a bit different!

We recommend trying to attend as a group for the best experience, smaller groups may need to sit with other people. We will be printing out a handy guide on the night explaining how everything works just in case you forget or anyone wants to join in on the fun.

Tickets £5.00 via Eventbrite - Book Here

Tickets include your first free 200ml stange of Nico and German snacks for the table.

Thursday 27th October - Four Thieves:

Orbit Request Line & Nico from the Wood

Friday 28th October - Orbit Taproom

Bring Your Own Dead Vinyl

One person's trash is another's treasure! Bring your unloved/dead vinyl to the taproom on Friday 28th October and try to swap it for something you like! We're offering a free half pint of Dead Wax to anyone who comes along with vinyl to exchange. We originally brewed our Dead Wax Porter for Halloween 2018, so it's the 4th anniversary of the beer this year. We'll have a fresh batch on at the taproom, Halloween cocktail specials, guest DJs, and records to browse.
