Saturday 3rd - London Jazz Kitcha DJ Set for International Jazz Day

 Orbit Beers Taproom

London Jazz Kitscha aka Goro is back at the taproom for a special Saturday evening Jazz set. April 30th is International Jazz Day but we're saving the celebrations for a Saturday evening for all who celebrate.

London Jazz Kitscha is inspired by the Japanese “Jazz Kissa”, an audiophile listening cafe. There used to be many places in Japan where you could listen to music and feel the atmosphere.

Therefore, following its name, he aims to play music that makes the audience feel comfortable and relaxed. However, this idea should not be described as chill-out music. He believes in the energetic power of jazz music.

Apart from his own event ‘London Jazz Kitscha’, Goro regularly appears as a guest DJ at Jazztrain_shoreditch and Grow Hackney jam sessions.

Friday 9th - Bring Your Own Vinyl

 Orbit Beers Taproom

2nd Friday of every month, our resident DJ will be playing records all night long. Bring your vinyl along, say hello, and get on the decks and play 20 minutes of your favourite tracks for a free pint!

Thursday 22nd - Hakata Pale Launch

 Orbit Beers Taproom

We'll have the new Hakata Pale Ale on tap on Thursday 22nd May, and we're pairing it with some delicious sake from Kanpai Brewery who are also based in Bermondsey. A rare chance to try this rice wine at the taproom by the glass alongside our new pale ale as well as the rice lager. If you have one of our locals cards you'll get a pint on the house that evening.

Hakata Pale Ale 4.9%:

This pale ale is designed to complement the spring/summer menu at Hakata Ramen bar in Bermondsey. Bursting with vibrant hop character, it showcases Sorachi Ace, Citra, and Columbus. Sorachi Ace—a unique Japanese hop variety developed in the 1970s—brings bright notes of lemon verbena on the nose, followed by delicate hints of coconut and dill on the palate. Citra and Columbus add further layers of citrus, balanced by resinous pine and a full, rounded mouthfeel.
