What's on in May

 

 

Whether you're popping into the taproom or out and about around London, here is an update of what we've got going on in May.

 

Thursday 2nd - Live Music

 Orbit Beers Taproom

We're lucky to have Rudy Creswick performing live in the taproom on the first Thursday of May (2nd). Playing bass-centric jazz with a blend of electronics and live instruments, drawing influence from hip hop and soul to dubstep and DnB.

 

Thursday 9th - Bourbon & Beer Tasting with Heaven Hills Distillery 

 Orbit Beers Taproom

We've got Chris from Heaven Hill Distillery joining Chris Matthewman, one of our Orbit Brewers to chat through some of our limited edition barrel-aged beers (aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels). We'll taste two fresh beers, two barrel-aged versions, alongside the whiskeys that those barrels once contained. 

Join us for a lineup of great beers and bourbons, taking you through our barrel-ageing process and some of the histories of American Bourbon. Expect some rare bottles from the Orbit Beers archives and some rare whiskeys and moonshine from one of the world's biggest family-owned distilleries.

Tickets available on Eventbrite: £10 (includes all tastings, welcome cocktail, 4 whiskeys, and 4 beer tasters).

Friday 10th - Bring Your Own Vinyl

 Orbit Beers Taproom

2nd Friday of every month, our resident DJ will be playing records all night long. Bring your vinyl along, say hello, and get on the decks and play 20 minutes of your favourite tracks for a free pint!

Saturday 11th - Independent Labels Market

 Coal Drops Yard

Join the best indie labels in town who will be selling their finest releases including vinyl rarities and test pressings as well as extended back catalogues, signed merchandise and advance copies. We'll be there pouring some of our summer specials alongside London Brewer's Market, and there will be live music and DJs throughout the day.

Thursday 16th - Spoken Word Night

 Orbit Beers Taproom

The third Thursday of every month is Poetry Open Mic Night. Share lyrics, poetry, and thoughts, with or without music in an inclusive, relaxed, and supportive space. 

Pop in and chat with Felix beforehand if you're keen to know more, or just come along on the night and find out.

Friday 17th - Don's Soul Kitchen

 Orbit Beers Taproom

Tasty soul, funk, and disco on vinyl with a few extras on the side. On from 8pm.

 

Friday 17th - Tap Takeover

 Star by Hackney Downs

Launching our outdoor bar by Hackney Downs this summer, we'll be at The Star for a tap takeover and Orbit DJs Loose Booty and Cellarman from 9pm - 1am.

 

Sunday 19th - Urban Village Fete

 Greenwich Peninsula

Gilles Peterson joins forces with the sonic storyteller, Jamz Supernova, for a musical experience you won't want to miss. Great beers, street food, and music throughout the day. And it's completely free! No better way to spend a sunny Sunday.

Friday 24th - Dub night

 Orbit Beers Taproom

Selectors spinning dub 7s, 10s, & 12s all night on the Orbit sound system. A journey from roots to rockers, from rub-a-dub to digital steppas & live overdub on analogue synth.


  

Wednesdays - Student Discount 

 Orbit Beers Taproom

We've partnered with LCC to host a student request line every other Wednesday at Orbit Taproom. 

We're doing 15% off for students on Wednesdays, just present your student card to the bar staff (available on beers, wine, soft drinks and house spirits). 

 

  

Sundays - Pub Quiz from 6pm

 Orbit Beers Taproom

Every Sunday at the taproom you can take part in our Pub Quiz from 6pm for the chance to win a £60 bar tab, so be sure to get a table booked in!
