What's on in March

Whether you're popping into the taproom or out and about around London, here is an update on what we've got going on in March.

 

Friday 3rd March - Nico Night

A Köln Drinking Experience in London

Following on from the roaring success of our last Nico Night in November 2022, we're doing it all again on Friday 3rd March. Round up your mates, book a table, and join us for a night of Nico Kölsch stanges, croquettes and nacos from Cue Point LDN, and Nico served from the wood for a Cologne-inspired night out.

If you've ever been to Cologne, you'll have noticed that their drinking culture is wildly different to ours, instead of going up to the bar to order, the smartly dressed and no-nonsense waiters (called Köbes) will bring over circular beer trays (called Kranz) laden with tall thin glasses (called stanges), containing 200ml of freshly poured Kölsch.

When the beers have been served, the Köbe will mark your beer mat to keep track of how many you've had. When your beer is nearly empty the Köbe will bring another stange, and another, until you place a beer mat on top of your glass, signalling you've had your fill.

 

Tickets (£7.50) include your first Nico and a Naco!

International Women's Day Menu - Cue Point LDN

Cue Point LDN are at Orbit Taproom serving up quintessentially British classics and infusing them with Afghan flavours using global BBQ methods.

Cue Points’ director Mursal Saiq’s Afghan heritage runs throughout the company from the branding and ethos to the menus and recipes. For International Women's Day 2023 (8th March) Mursal and the team have created some specials for our menu that are inspired by intersectional global women.

Mursal: "This year the focus will be on Afghan Women and we will contribute some of the profits to an Afghan Women's Charity assisting the education of Afghan women virtually/globally as it has been banned across Afghanistan for all women due to the Taliban takeover."

The specials will be advertised in the taproom and available all week.

Our resident DJ will be in playing records all night long. Bring your vinyl along, get on the decks and play 20 minutes of your favourite tracks for a free pint!

Get a free drink for Mum on Mother's Day! Bring your mum for one of Cue Point LDN's legendary roast dinners on Mother's Day and she'll get a free drink with her meal. This will be one of the last chance's to get a roast before Cue Point switch up to their summer BBQ menu, so we advise booking a table.

Barrel & Horn - Bromley

 A place to come together over craft beers, cask ales and cocktails, the Barrel & Horn is at the heart of the Bromley community with its lovely garden and lively events calendar. We'll be taking over the taps with our core range and seasonal specials on Thursday 23rd March, so come along if you find yourself a bit further south of the river!

Thursday 30th March - An Evening with Melissa Cole

Join us at the taproom on Thursday 30th March for an evening with Certified Cicerone© and world-renowned beer writer Melissa Cole. Melissa’s passion in life is getting people to learn as little, or as much, as they want about what she considers the finest social lubricant known to humankind - beer!

Tickets are £10, or £16 including a copy of Melissa's book 'The Little Book of Lager' which features Orbit's award-winning Koln Lager Nico. Melissa will lead a tasting of beers which feature in the book and will be discussing her experiences of brewing, beer styles, tasting notes, and the perfect food pairings.

Friday 31st March - G-Reg & Supa Ted Present a Night of Hip Hop and Drum & Bass Classics

 Join us on Friday 31st March for another night of Hip Hop and Drum & Bass classics at the taproom from 7pm. Expect the likes of J Dilla, Mos Def, Fugees, Wu-Tang Clan, Gang Starr, Pete Rock, Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, Roots Manuva, Jay-Z, De La Soul, Common, Alix Perez, DLR, Break, SpectraSoul.
