What's on in February

Whether you're popping into the taproom or out and about around London, here is an update on what we've got going on in February.

 

Cue Point LDN - Kitchen Residency Continues - Orbit Beers Taproom 

We're delighted to say that Cue Point London will be staying on at the taproom until the Summer of 2023. 

Cue Point take quintessentially British classics and infuse them with Afghan flavours using global BBQ methods, creating an entirely unique offering of British Afghan fusion. Their dishes travel across the festival circuit with Tom Kerridge's Pub in the Park and Taste of London. Owners - Mursal Saiq and Joshua Moroney, frequent the demo stages across the UK with their mouth-watering smoked meats and vegan BBQ dishes as well as the message of inclusivity.  

As an inclusive company, Cue Point believe in making sure that a broader range of dietary requirements are met to create integrated and inclusive spaces, which is also great for the industry as it increases restaurant and takeaway revenue by 33% by opening the market to more individuals through inclusive recipe development. They are proud winners of Be Inclusive Hospitality Spotlight Awards for People's Choice Restaurant of the Year 2022 and also came No.22 in Time Outs Best Restaurant List of 2022!

Saturday 11th - Baltic Porter Launch

Join us at the taproom this weekend for the launch of our first White Label Series Special of 2023 - Baltic Porter!

The Baltic Porter originates from the late 19th century when the Baltic states wanted to brew their own version of the increasingly popular imperial stout. These were traditionally brewed with ale yeast, but brewers realised that fermentation was far quicker in their colder climates using lager yeast instead. The lager yeast also gave a cleaner profile with fewer fruity esters (usually found in traditional porters), and as such, the Baltic Porter was born!

Utopian Brewing and Orbit Beers share a love of traditional European-style beers, and following on from their Altbier collaboration in 2022, they’ve teamed up again in 2023 to celebrate the traditional Baltic Porter.

At 7.4%, this deep chestnut-coloured Porter has a complex malt profile with aromas of caramel, chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, and dried cherries. Expect a smooth, malty sweetness and hints of liquorice, with lively carbonation, a boozy warmth, and a dry finish.
We'll have bottles to take away, and the first keg on tap over the weekend so pop down and give it a try. DJs playing throughout the evening and delicious food from Cue Point LDN as well.
 

 

Tuesday 14th - Orbit Beers x  Utopian Brewing Tap Takeover

Southampton Arms 


We're taking the Baltic Porter north of the river to the Southampton Arms! Our collab with Utopian will be on the taps along with some Utopian and Orbit classics and specials. We will also have Dead Wax on cask for the first time! One of two available, so it's not to be missed.

Saturday 18th - Helles Launch, Superfu & Leng records DJ sets

FillyBrook, Leytonstone

 We’re relaunching the Helles Lager this weekend at Fillybrook bar in Leytonstone. We've collaborated with @lengrecords, @fillybrook bar & restaurant, and @saiderasounds to coincide with their album - the Brazilian-inspired 'Luzes Da Cidade’. We had the guys down to Orbit Brewery for the day to brew the beer together and listen to the awesome Saidera soundtrack.

Join Leng Records and Superfu for some fresh Helles and fresh beats.

Saturday 18th - Jazu Takeover

Our friends from Camberwell's much loved (and much missed!) Jazu bar are joining us at the taproom again on Saturday 18th February. We'll have Scott serving up signature cocktails on the bar and Jimmy on the decks with some Jazu favourites. We're open until 1am, so get yourselves down here for a night to remember.

 

Saturday 25th February - Dobber Album Launch

Join us on Saturday 25 February at the Orbit Beers Taproom to celebrate the long-awaited launch of Tuck In by Dobber. We’ve planned a big night of song and celebration, with DJs on from 7 to close, with a special cool thing happening around 9.

It’s an album based around the keyboards: piano, vintage synths and organ, backed by live bass and drums. The record takes you through synth psych through blues to synth reggae and synth punk.

It’s released by @sduplicator and the vinyl will on sale for the first time on the night. For a preview check: https://dobber.bandcamp.com/
