Harvest Festival + New Festbier Release: Saturday 26th September

For the second year running, we’re bringing our Harvest Festival back to the Orbit Beers taproom in South London on Saturday 26 September.

We’ll be celebrating the arrival of autumn with plenty of lagers, good food, a conkers tournament, and DJs, plus the launch of our new release: Orbit Beers Festbier.

The new Orbit Festbier will be pouring alongside two guest festival lagers: Zötler Festbier and Allgäuer Festbier. So, if you're up for crisp, refreshing, and malty lagers, there’ll be plenty to try.

As it's a LAUNCH, if you’re a Locals Card holder, you can enjoy a free pint of the new Orbit Festbier on the day. Find out more about the Locals Card.

Dragon Flame BBQ will be cooking up a selection of sausages throughout the day. We've heard the spicy beef sausage and the sausage lollypops are making a return!

Autumn Celebrations

It wouldn’t be a Harvest Festival without a bit of friendly competition, so we’ll have a conkers tournament running again this year throughout the day. Bring your best conker and see how you get on (we'll have some here to play with too).

Later on, we’ll be turning up the volume with a DJ set from Unemployable Welsh Scum, from 8pm onwards. Unemployable Welsh Scum are twin brother DJ duo Paul "Tidy" and Stewart "Stönk" Summers. The pair have DJ'd together for over two decades, playing vinyl in places as far-flung as Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Krankenhaus Festival in Cumbria. Expect everything from AC/DC to X Ray Spex, Punk rock Chestnuts and Indie Bangers, with some Ska, Reggae, and Motown all thrown into the mix.

The New Festbier - What to Expect

Orbit’s take on a Bavarian festival lager. A blend of Vienna malt, lager malt, and Bohemian pilsner malt lay down aromas of fresh bread, honey, crackers, and biscuits. The very subtle addition of Cherry Ember Smoked Malt adds a depth of character, bringing a faint hint of woodsmoke that lifts the other malt aromas rather than dominates. Think freshly baked bread from a wood-fired oven rather than smoky bacon or peat.

Tettnang and Perle provide a traditional German hop profile, offering soft floral and spicy aromas, and a clean herbal bitterness to finish. A warm golden colour with a lasting white head, this 5.2% Festbier is the perfect pairing for good food and good company.

Help Support Southwark Food Bank

We’ll also be collecting donations for our local food bank in Southwark. If you’re able to bring along any of the following, we’d be hugely grateful:

  • Jam
  • Pasta sauce
  • Tinned vegetarian meals
  • Biscuits
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tinned soup

So come down, raise a glass to the changing season, try the new Orbit Festbier, and help us make our second annual Harvest Festival in South London another great one!
